Outfit Idea: Bright Hues

I wanted to incorporate outfit ideas/inspirations on my blog, so I decided to start a new category aptly titled 'outfit idea.' The first is one of Spring's biggest trends: bright hues. I first saw these photos in the April issue of Lucky and I loved how perfectly these outfits were styled.

Rachel Zoe named Hollywood's most powerful stylist

Rachel Zoe is on this month's cover of The Hollywood Reporter and was named the number one stylist in Hollywood (among 25 others).


Interview higlights:

On fame: “I never wanted to be famous,” Zoe, who grew up in Short Hills, N.J., later declares.

On success: “I’ve never been driven by money; I’m driven by the path,” she says. “And fear. The scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life was start a collection.

On her collection: “My mission was to create wonderfully tailored, luxurious clothes — classic suits, tux jackets and faux fur — where they give off the feeling of luxury without having to pay for it."

On being a stylist: “A stylist is a behind-the-scenes job,” she says. “I’m never a star when I’m with a star — ever. Back then, I was very insecure about that. Even now, if you watch me on a red carpet, I’m physically uncomfortable. I can’t strike a good pose to save my life."

Her purpose: “to merge the worlds of Hollywood and fashion. … Because I felt that there was this huge disconnect,” she says. “I didn’t understand why the most glamorous place in the world wasn’t using the most glamorous clothes.”

Paris Fashion Week has officially come to an end, but I had to do one last post on my favorite collection from the last group of shows.
My heart melted for Elie Saab's collection specifically the gowns. They are just so gorgeous. I could stare at them all day.

This collection was all about the seventies, flowy silhouettes, snakeskin and beautiful color. My favorite look is the mint green button-down paired with the snakeskin print silk skirt.

What I love about fashion week, whether it's New York, Milan or Paris, is discovering new (to me) designers. As I was looking through the collections that went down the runways of Paris Fashion Week yesterday, I came across Giambattista Valli's collection and I immediately loved it. I love the simplicity of his designs as well as the silhouettes.
